About Anna
I recently graduated from college, magna cum laude, as a double major in Spanish and Government. I spent four months interning and taking classes in Madrid, Spain, where I was under a language pledge to only speak Spanish. Last year, I took the American Council on Teaching Foreign Language's Oral Proficiency Interview and scored at the advanced level. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I taught a group of students on Zoom for a year and created a self-paced online curriculum for local elementary and middle schools to use. Throughout college, I tutored multiple grade levels.

Hi everyone! I am passionate about not only teaching students the Spanish language itself, but also instilling in them an appreciation for how language can help them connect with the world in novel ways. I try to make language applicable to students' everyday lives, so that they begin to use Spanish in context. For example, I might send a student on a scavenger hunt around the house to label items with Spanish vocabulary words on a post-it. Or, I might have a student practicing writing about their favorite sport. These activities help students take ownership of the language and begin to use it outside of strictly academic settings. I have the most experience with middle-school students, but have tutored through the Advanced Placement (AP) level. My lesson plans are tailored to the student, depending on their weaknesses and how many times a week/month they need help.
