About Mikaela
I am a very calm and patient tutor. I have had my fair share of harsh teachers and tutors from middle school to college professors. Making mistakes can feel like a life-or-death situation, and I firmly believe it shouldn't because everyone learns best from mistakes and frequent practice. I encourage any and all questions and discussion on topics a student finds confusing or difficult to figure out. I have taught people who were younger than me, as old as me, and even older than me. Everyone is able to learn, regardless of their age or skill level.

My teaching method emphasizes learning from mistakes while building confidence in a student's abilities. I provide a judgment-free environment for students so they aren't afraid of making mistakes. My teaching style first includes a few questions on what level the student is at and asking specific areas they struggle with prior to a lesson. Then I organize a lesson structure that matches their level of understanding. I will then provide an explanation of the lesson, particularly where the student feels they struggle. Then I will provide them with exercises we do together which will progressively become more challenging. Throughout the exercises, I will ask if they feel confident in their answer, explain to me why they feel the answer is correct, and provide constructive criticism and guidance if they are incorrect. My Spanish lessons are for middle school to high school students.
