About Emilio
I'm a composer, multi-instrumentalist and music educator with 7 years of teaching experience, working with students of different ages, backgrounds and musical goals.
I studied Music Composition at IP Projazz in Chile, specialising in music for cinema and audiovisual media. My training gave me a strong foundation in harmony, music theory, composition, arranging and orchestration, while my work as a musician has also taken me into performance, recording, music production and live music.
Since 2019, I have taught through private lessons, music academies and specialised music programs. My teaching experience includes piano and keyboard, guitar, music theory, composition, songwriting and music production, working with children taking their first steps in music as well as adults wanting to reconnect with an instrument, explore their creativity or develop their musicianship further.
My own musical background is broad rather than purely classical. I have spent years studying, performing and working with styles including jazz, funk, soul, rock, pop and Latin music. I see the piano as much more than an instrument on its own: it is one of the best tools for understanding harmony, rhythm, melody, improvisation, composition and how music works as a whole.
My background has shown me that there is no single correct way to learn music. Every student develops differently, and part of my role as a teacher is to understand how you learn, what inspires you and which approach helps you make real progress.
I believe learning music should be something you look forward to, not another obligation. Technique and theory are important, but they should serve the music you want to make rather than turn it into a chore.
My goal is not simply to teach you how to play pieces on the piano. I want to help you develop as a musician — to understand what you're playing, make your own musical decisions, explore your creativity and gradually become more independent and confident in the way you make music.

My lessons are built around one idea: you should be learning music, not just memorizing an instrument.
Every student has different goals, interests and ways of learning, so I adapt the lessons to you rather than following the same rigid program with everyone. We can work with the music you already love while building the skills and understanding that will help you become a more complete and independent musician.
Depending on your goals, lessons can include:
Piano and keyboard technique
Chords, harmony and chord progressions
Improvisation
Music theory applied directly to the instrument
Rhythm, groove and accompaniment
Scales and how to actually use them musically
Learning and analyzing songs you enjoy
Composition and songwriting
Developing melodies and arranging ideas
Understanding how different instruments work together
Creative exercises to help you develop your own musical voice
For beginners, we can start from the fundamentals and build a strong foundation without making the process overwhelming. For more experienced students, we can go deeper into harmony, voicings, improvisation, composition, different styles and the areas of your playing that you specifically want to improve.
I want the concepts we study to connect to real music. Whether we're working on a chord, scale, song or theoretical idea, the goal is to understand why it works, how you can use it and how it can help you express your own musical ideas. Lessons can explore styles such as pop, blues, rock, jazz, funk, soul, Latin and contemporary music, always with space to experiment, ask questions and enjoy the process of becoming a more confident and independent musician.
Review
All of our reviews are collected by us and are 100% reliable. They correspond to a real experience lived by the students of Emilio.
Perfect! My daughter loves Emilio, she is up to her 3rd lesson and already we are seeing improvements in her ability to improvise and chord variations. Her finger work has improved and she genuinely looks forward to classes.
A new way of teaching, Emilio really takes the time to understand what music his students want to play and helps them achieve their individual goal.
Highly recommend and well worth the exhorbitant price Superprof charges to contact a tutor!View more reviews
