About Allegra Blu
I am about to start my first year at LSE studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics. As part of my course I still study maths at a high level. For A level I studied English, Maths and Politics and obtained A, A*, A* respectively.
I am committed, organised and enthusiastic as I have demonstrated through participating in many extra-curricular activities, while still managing my academic work load. I have enjoyed leading and supporting others by way of my roles as a tutor in Maths and English, Prefect and House Captain. I learnt much about leadership, patience and the importance of making everyone feel equally valued and included in a team.Due to taking part in drama, debating and public speaking I understand and value confidence, social skills and dedication. I discovered these especially through organising a Brexit debate with a neighbouring school and representing the Liberal Democrat party in my school’s mock election. Through volunteering with the People’s Vote Campaign group I realised how important my willingness to learn is as well as how useful initiative can be. As I am multi-national, live in London and am bilingual in Italian, I find that I am able to get on with a range of different people with a variety of perspectives and thoroughly enjoy doing so.

I am a first year university student which means I was recently still at school and therefore am very much in tune with what it is like! I would help with homework and/or revision for struggling students, focusing on practice, correcting any mistakes and learning from them. I have no previous paid teaching work, but have tutored younger girls at my school who struggled in Maths, English and Italian. I also am the eldest of 3 and so have experience in dealing with younger children as I have often had to babysit my younger siblings and their friends. When I was younger I also had a tutor and so did my siblings so I am aware of how the system works.
