About Adam
I started my career as a teacher in Oahu, Hawai'i while concurrently finishing my Master's Degree from Johns Hopkins University. A unique period of my life: I was able to teach mathematics for the school day, and then go surf the wonderful surf breaks around the island – a true pleasure! As the cost of paradise slowly increased, I moved back to the mainland in hopes of securing a bigger role in the school where I worked.
I initially received my Bachelor's of Science degree in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin; however, my heart drew me to working with students who were just as eager to learn as I was in grade school.

In my classes, I prioritize what works best for the students - are they more visual? Hands-on? Do they prefer more independent practice-style lessons with occasional critique?
All of my courses are displayed via my iPad, where students go through guided lessons with me and are eventually given independent practice time to work on their own.
I am more than willing to simply help students on homework help as needed, but feel that there is more to learn through relearning concepts and then applying it to their homework - I have the tools to support!
I specialize in middle and high school math, as well as test-taking strategies and organization.
Not to brag...but historically, 95% of my students that I have taught have passed their state testing for Algebra I as 8th graders - a HUGE achievement for them!
