About João Lobo
I want to teach because I believe that everyone should have access to personalized support when it comes to learning. Everyone is different. More specifically, everyone learns differently. Potential and, most importantly, curiosity for learning should not be wasted due to a mismatch in learning and teaching styles.
I am (sometimes too :)) enthusiastic when it comes to talking about math and science, for I believe thinking about it clearly has a lot to offer. Math is made out of different people's views and intuitions of math. Therefore, everyone brings something to the table.
My hope is that, with my tutoring, I can also share some of this curiosity about the math and science world.

My methodology is always oriented to the student's specific goals and needs. I believe in a hands-on approach to learning maths and physics, focused not only on exercises and practice but also on developing the necessary tools and intuition to tackle future problems independently.
Usually, the typical lesson would range from 1 to 2 hours depending on its focus. I believe that sessions with a lot of theory should be focused on understanding it well rather than taking it as a black box. Therefore, they are usually smaller compared to the ones focused on exercises.
I have started tutoring recently some university students and I also have one semester experience in teaching for a larger class. However, I aim my tutoring to all levels and ages.
