About Harlan
I am a Spanish tutor with over 4 years of experience and a Master of Arts in Hispanic Studies. I specialise in helping students prepare for exams like GCSE, A-Levels, IB Spanish, DELE, and AP Spanish. My lessons focus on mastering grammar, improving essay writing, and developing strong oral exam strategies. I also create structured revision plans tailored to each student’s needs. My teaching approach focuses on helping students use Spanish confidently in everyday life. I emphasise practical communication skills, including informal speech, texting, and slang, to make conversations feel natural and easy. I tailor each session to fit the student’s needs, whether they are new to the language or want to improve their conversational skills. We practise real-life situations, like shopping, meeting new people, or casual chatting. This helps students feel ready to handle daily interactions with ease. Using role-play and interactive exercises, I encourage students to speak often and without fear. I also introduce cultural aspects that affect how people talk in different Spanish-speaking communities. This deepens understanding and makes language learning more meaningful. My goal is to support steady progress and help students express themselves clearly and confidently in Spanish.
