About Elaina
My fascination with mathematics comes from a lifelong love of patterns, logical structures, and problem-solving. I pursued an M.Sc in Applied Mathematics, focusing on algebra, geometry, and advanced modeling techniques. Over 11 years, I have helped learners at every level, from elementary school math through middle school math, algebra, geometry, and SAT math, cultivating analytical skills, confidence, and independent thinking. I teach with patience, clarity, and adaptability, tailoring lessons to each student’s pace, style, and goals. Using visual aids, real-world examples, and structured exercises, I help learners grasp abstract concepts effectively. Encouraging curiosity, logical reasoning, and active problem-solving is central to my teaching philosophy, fostering both academic success and intellectual growth. Outside the classroom, I continuously explore new mathematical strategies, analytical methods, and innovative educational approaches. Mathematics becomes engaging and accessible when students understand the reasoning behind every concept rather than simply memorizing formulas. This approach helps students develop analytical thinking, application skills, and confidence in tackling diverse mathematical problems.
Intermediate lessons focus on linear equations, functions, coordinate geometry, multi-step word problems, and logical reasoning. I also integrate SAT math preparation, teaching students to interpret questions accurately, manage time effectively, and use structured strategies to arrive at solutions. Exercises reinforce analytical reasoning, critical thinking, and practical application, ensuring students are well-prepared for both academic assessments and real-world scenarios.
Advanced lessons cover higher-order algebra, geometric proofs, mathematical modeling, and data interpretation.
