About Jesiah
Hi, I’m a QUT finance graduate with a strong interest in math and problem solving.
I wasn’t always naturally good at math myself, and I know how frustrating it can be when concepts are not explained clearly. A lot of the time, it is not that students cannot do math, it is that it has not been taught in a way that makes sense to them.
That is a big part of why I enjoy tutoring. I want to be the kind of tutor I wish I had, someone who takes the time to explain things properly and helps everything click. I believe math is a skill that anyone can improve at with the right approach and practice, and I enjoy helping students build that understanding and confidence over time.

My approach to tutoring is focused on helping students truly understand maths, not just memorise steps. I explain the “why” behind formulas and rules so students can connect the dots and make sense of what they’re learning. Many students struggle because of small gaps in their foundations, so I take the time to identify and fix these first. I keep explanations clear and simple, and make sure students actively work through problems themselves. My goal is to build confidence, understanding and long-term improvement, so students feel more comfortable tackling maths both in class and on their own.
