About Stina
My university degree was in French, and I have a Master's Degree in Organizational Development. I worked in the high tech industry in Silicon Valley as a global project manager for 14 years. I traveled around the world for work, and spent time in France, Israel, the UK, and the Netherlands, although I also had team members in Argentina, Japan, Australia, Italy, and Spain. I learned what it is like to get a lot of people who don't share the same native language working together. I stopped working when I had kids in 2004. In 2007, my husband and I decided to have an adventure and we moved to Guadalajara, Mexico. I didn't speak any Spanish at the beginning, so I had to learn very fast! After I moved to Mexico, I started to do what I always wanted to do- teach! I got my English Language Teaching Certificate, and then started teaching Business English to professionals. Later, I ended up working at my kids' middle and high school, where I taught kids and teenagers academic English. I moved back to the US in 2022 and have been teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) since then. My current students come from Ukraine, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, Thailand, and China. Teaching is my favorite thing to do, and I look forward to meeting you! I love empowering people and making them feel confident!

Everyone who learns a new language has different needs! Do you need English for work? for travel? for school? for fun?
First, I listen to your needs and goals. We will work together to make sure we make a learning plan that meets your needs.
I am a warm, encouraging person with a lot of sensitivity about how hard it can be to learn a new language.
I have taught middle and high school kids, including IELTS preparation. I also have taught business English to professionals in the areas of finance, marketing, IT, engineering, project management and more. I have taught doctors "medical English" to be able to better communicate with their patients.
Because most of my students come from different backgrounds, there is no typical lesson plan, beyond exploring the topics that each student wants to learn. If you're not sure what you want to learn, I can help with that, too.
