About Cristina
Hello! My name is Cristina, and I am a qualified and passionate teacher with several years of experience teaching English and Math to young learners. I hold a teaching qualification and have worked both in the classroom and online, supporting students from diverse backgrounds, including those learning English as a second language. I specialize in working with primary school students (Grades 2–5) and focus on helping them build strong foundational skills, develop confidence, and enjoy learning. My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and interactive—I believe in making every lesson engaging and meaningful by using creative activities, real-life examples, and plenty of positive reinforcement. In addition to English, I am also fluent in Afrikaans, which allows me to support students who may benefit from bilingual instruction. I tailor my lessons to each child’s individual needs and learning style, ensuring that they feel supported, challenged, and proud of their progress. Students can expect a structured, fun, and respectful learning environment where their efforts are celebrated and their questions are always welcome. My goal is not just to help students succeed academically but also to help them develop a lifelong love of learning. As a qualified and experienced teacher, I offer private English and Maths lessons designed to be engaging, interactive, and tailored to each student’s needs. My approach is rooted in patience, encouragement, and building confidence, especially for young learners who may feel overwhelmed or anxious about these subjects.
I use a practical, student-centred methodology that combines visual aids, games, storytelling (for English), and problem-solving strategies (for Maths) to make learning fun and meaningful. I believe that learning should feel like discovery, not pressure—this mindset helps students truly understand and retain what they’ve learned.
I am proficient in English and Afrikaans, and I can teach in both languages to support better understanding and comfort for my students.
