About Ellie
Hi! My name is Ellie Moran, and I have been a public high school teacher in Denver for the last five years. I am currently in graduate school receiving my MA in Creative Writing Nonfiction.
I have loved to read and write for as long as I can remember. It is breath for me, something to express myself daily. To be a good writer, you must be a good reader. I love teaching literacy, reading comprehension strategies, grammatical/vocab practices, essay writing, and mainly, creative writing prompts (memoirs, poetry, plays, short stories, etc).
Teaching has always been a way for me to embue my passion for reading and writing into the classroom, full knowing that not everyone's brains are wired for English like mine! I love to help out those struggling with putting words on the page, because once that aha moment happens, it's magic.

I am a highly relational educator who has a unique approach to academic writing. Teaching 190 students a year, I was never able to provide the in-depth feedback I wanted. The opportunity to work one-on-one with students is exciting so I can take a close look into their skills.
Teaching Creative Writing has allowed me to tap into a student's creativity as well. I have experience for grades 6-12, as well as anyone applying to the professional fields with resumes and cover letters.
I am all about setting your writing apart (especially with college essays) so I can provide instruction to help elevate your writing style!
