About Shaani
Hi, I'm Shaani, a Master's student in Optometry at university. I tutor Biology for AS level and GCSE students, with a particular focus on building exam confidence — explaining and breaking down tricky topics, practising past paper techniques, and helping students manage exam pressure. As a current student myself, I know what it takes to explain concepts clearly and keep them memorable. I tailor my approach to each student's pace and learning style. Having gotten 8 A*s at GCSE and 2 A*s in A-Levels, I implement the science-backed techniques I use and tailor them to each student and year group. My goal is making you succeed and reach the grades and marks you want, whilst also instilling confidence and helping you reach your full potential.

I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to suit their individual learning style and goals. I use psychology-based techniques such as active recall and spaced repetition to solidify understanding, leading to steady growth and learning. I make lessons engaging and fun whilst building confidence and important skills. I’m also very patient and happy to explain difficult concepts in different ways and perspectives until they become clear. A typical lesson length is 1 hour, however I also offer longer lessons if you prefer. Whether you need help learning content, catching up, preparing for exams or aiming for higher grades, I’ll work with you to make steady progress and reach your goals.
