Having tutored other students, I find that there are several ways to approach language learning and it very much depends on the individual and their language needs. For beginners, it’s often useful to start with basic phrases and grammar, such as gendered nouns/adjectives and identifying cognates. For more advanced students, difficulties regarding grammar are my forté! I have developed simple, easy to follow verb tables that I can break down and explain efficiently. I also firmly believe that it’s ok to make mistakes! Learning another language is hard and we all started somewhere. My teaching methodology is positive and reassuring, never demeaning!
