About John
I’ve been teaching freelance music lessons to all ages in the Westchester, NY and Boston, MA areas for 9 years. In 2017, I started as an elementary school music teacher at The Advent Elementary School in Boston. I am very passionate about teaching and sharing my knowledge of music with the world. I think the most important aspect of life is sharing the ability to create art with others, and creating art with others!
Lessons will focus on any or all of the following skills:
Scale forming techniques
Chord forming techniques
Reharmonization techniques
Music theory (Jazz/Classical)
Sight reading
Chart reading
Ear training
Instrument maintenance/repair

I have no specific teaching approach. Over the past 10 Years I have taught students of all ages and skill levels, no one is the same.
There are multiple learning paths to take when learning any discipline. My goal for my students is to find out how they learn, and over time develop the quickest most efficient path for them to reach their goals.
