About Lieve
My name is Lieve. I have been studying Latin and Greek at school since I was 12 years old, and then went on to study Classics at two of the top universities in the Netherlands (UvA and VU), whilst doing a minor at UCL, and completing a Creative Writing course from the University of Oxford.
I graduated with distinction, and have since gone to drama school in London, where I am now based, and currently write plays based on original translations of ancient mythology.

I offer online tutoring sessions, typically one hour a week. I have been teaching students between the ages of 12 and 22 since 2017, both privately and in schools, and approach my lessons in a personal, light-hearted and encouraging way. I am always eager to hear what my students think they are struggling with, but I also put this to the test by translating together and asking targeted (grammar and vocab) questions. My goal is to help my students gain self-confidence and give them the tools they need to translate texts by themselves.
I have noticed that my students benefit most from weekly one-hour lessons, because repetition ensures that the material sinks in better than a quick rescue mission right before a test or exam, but of course I do offer that as well.
