About Mark
I am going into my second year of university and, having so recently gone through secondary education, can easily relate to my students' studies and all that is needed to attain the grades they need. I also am very familiar with the new 9-1 GCSE style of marking and evaluating, being one of the first year groups to have been examined in this way. I greatly enjoy my chosen subject at university, and I deliver it in an engaging and naturally enthusiastic way. In my own experience of being an A Level and GCSE student, it is easier to relate to, and therefore learn from, a younger student who is closer to their own experiences. I feel that I can make a difference in any student's approach to English, which can be intimidating to many. I will equip my students with the tools they need to engage successfully with their subject and to deal with the parts of their course that are, naturally, very challenging.

My tailored approach to teaching focuses on improving students' understanding of the critical approach to English Literature and Language, specifying in poetry analysis and essay writing.
I achieved A* A A in A Level English Literature, Music and Drama, having achieved A**/9s in all three (as well as a 9 in English language) at GCSE. My Creative writing EPQ, on the subject of the poetic form and its interdisciplinary uses was awarded an A* during sixth form.
My personal approach to teaching is tailored to my student specifically: what they are struggling with (for example comparative literature and poetry) and how I can adapt my teaching methods to aid them individually. I can teach students of all ability. Lessons will usually be an hour, however I can be flexible with the needs of the student and wants of the parent.
