About Jyothi
I am currently a 3rd year student at the University of Oxford, doing Economics and Management and will be going into Investment Banking after graduating.
Having experienced a challenging academic environment myself, I understand the importance of having clear explanations, strong foundations, and the confidence to ask questions when something does not make sense. I enjoy tutoring because I genuinely enjoy helping students overcome topics they find difficult and seeing their confidence grow as they improve. I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their understanding. I also hope to share the study techniques and approaches that have helped me throughout my own academic journey.

My tutoring style is tailored to each individual student, taking into account their current abilities, skills, and level of understanding. Lessons typically last one hour and are structured around a clear PowerPoint presentation to help keep the session organised and easy to follow. I place a strong focus on teaching the theory behind each topic, ensuring students develop a solid understanding rather than simply memorising information. At the same time, I keep lessons interactive by asking plenty of questions throughout, encouraging students to think independently and apply what they have learnt. I also adapt the pace, level of detail, and teaching approach depending on each student’s confidence and progress, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. Tests and homework will be provided to assess the student's understanding regularly.
