About LUCY
I have a strong passion for learning and would love to support and inspire you at a time where you may be struggling academically or under a lot of stress. Throughout my year's experience of tutoring, I have been able to refine my tutoring technique, which has made a big difference to student satisfaction and their academic achievements. Although I may not have much experience in comparison to others, I hope for this to change as I aspire to go into teaching after I graduate from university.

I am extremely passionate about learning and make it my goal to inspire younger students to develop an interest in something that they may be struggling with. For GCSE or A Level lessons, the lessons typically revolve around planning exam questions. We do this collaboratively, paying close attention to the mark scheme, and I teach them how to structure an answer. For other lessons, I am able to mould the lesson to whatever the student wanted to focus on (of course, I am able to do this for A Level and GCSE too). We usually start with a warm-up exercise on i.e. grammar, and then move on to the main focus. A balanced dialogue in lessons is very important to me, so I encourage the student to share their views and questions. My lessons typically last 1 hour. I have the most experience tutoring English Language and Literature at GCSE, and particularly these modules/exam boards: - AQA - Edexcel - Macbeth - Romeo and Juliet - An Inspector Calls - A Christmas Carol - Frankenstein - War and Conflict poetry - Love and Relationships poetry. A Level: - Women in Literature (Sense and Sensibility and Mrs Dalloway) - Henrik Ibsen (A Doll's House) - Twelfth Night - The Canterbury Tales
