About Ben
I am a 4th year medical student at Drexel University College of Medicine. I graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, San Diego, with a B.S. in Human Biology and a minor in Music Studies. During my gap year, I worked as a principal scientist at a telemedicine start-up and as a scientist at Regulus Therapeutics. I also contributed to the Alzheimer’s Disease Cooperative Study and have authored 10 abstracts and publications, including several as first author. At Drexel, I served as a student ambassador for admissions and have mentored premed students with essays, applications, and mock interviews. I’ve also been tutoring high school and college students for 8+ years, with expertise in human biology, molecular biology, chemistry, English, essay writing, and application prep. Additionally, I’ve taught piano and violin since 2016, having trained through ABRSM with distinction ratings. I’ve worked with over 20 students ages 6–18.

I believe a strong grasp of fundamentals and consistent exposure to practice questions are key to success. I use them to teach students how to approach problems methodically, identify key information, and apply recall-based reasoning. My goal is to help students build lasting habits that improve both scores and confidence. To get the most out of our sessions, please send homework or questions in advance so I can tailor each lesson. I hope I can provide you with support and mentorship whether it be for academic studies, college/medical schools admissions processes, or piano practicum.

Details
My rates are flexible. My priorities are more so to help my clients and students, as this is the most fulfilling part of my job. Part of the rate I charge is to help support my cost of living, given that I am a medical student without any income, and tutoring serves as a main form of supplemental income.
