About Gavin
My name is Gavin Humphries and I am a fourth-year Sociology student at Brock. I am currently graduating with this degree and then returning to complete a Bachelor's in Medical Science. I have taken a wide variety of courses, with a specific focus on philosophy and sociology. Sociology includes aspects of law, history, civil rights, and a whole host of different, intersecting aspects of human life. From this, I was able to explore my writing abilities ranging from more research-focused papers to free-flow, persuasive style writing. My experience in university has taught me a lot, especially working closely with my professors, and its knowledge I would love to share!

I teach with a variety of tangible examples and applicable theories. You will never walk away feeling like what I have taught you isn't useful. A typical lesson plan for essay writing would include how to craft a thesis, how to build an outline and end with proofreading tips. In between each of these is the more free-flow lesson which depends on the student's level of expertise, and can include; grammar, punctuation, clarity, writing flow, and a variety of other popular techniques for academic writing. I am happy to teach K-12 students and any students in university who would like to improve their writing. With me as your tutor, you'll get plenty of hands-on experience and tangible knowledge, as well as a space to express your ideas freely and lessons that adapt to each student's specific writing aptitude.
