About Shae
As a speech pathologist student and a Girl Guide Leader, I see so many people who struggle to communicate. Communication is so essential to a well adjusted life, and having to wait for those services can be heart breaking. I have seen families who were not able to access the help they needed through the pandemic and now are on long waiting lists and feeling helpless that they cannot communicate with each other. My goal is to lessen the stress on families and help those gain the confidence they need. Children who struggle with any sort of communication (verbal or non-verbal) are more at risk to falling behind in school, bullying and lack of confidence, and in a world with so much to offer, I feel that it is unnecessary that any person should feel this way.
I am organised, punctual, and an enthusiast about different learning techniques/methods!

Learning approaches will differ depending on what is needed to be taught, the age of the student and their learning capabilities.
reading:
some students find reading overly comforting and sometimes boring. As a bookworm myself, I understand the importance of finding something appealing. Do you or your child enjoy baking?? Easy we will start with reading simple recipes while we bake something yummy! How about the park? We can walk to the park while learning to sound out the words that are around us!
speech:
speech delays are way more common than some realise, resulting in long waiting lists to seek help. Or perhaps you have finally have seen that speech therapist, but now overwhelmed with the homework...also very common! That's where I come in! I am able to go over the homework, and assist with any other speech inquiries. If you have not been seen yet, I am able to start the process, (unofficially of course), but help you or your child to gain confidence in their speech and assess early on.
writing / grammar / vocabulary
using a variety of techniques and approaches, you or your child will be able to learn about English structure and how to use it. English has so many rules, that it really is no shock that some, even in English speaking homes, struggle. Through hands on activities, reading and writing tasks, it can make the whole process more engaging and insightful
