My Teaching Approach:
I believe in empowering students by helping them understand concepts rather than just providing answers. I always try to work alongside the student, guiding them to find solutions themselves while building their confidence. I use relatable analogies to break down complex topics and adapt to each student’s learning style. I feel as though tying in real life examples always helps a ton in understanding topics. By creating a light-hearted and dynamic team with the student, where they are Batman and I am Robin, I ensure students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes—a key part of learning.
Typical Lesson Plan:
Understanding the Student: I start by gauging what the student already knows and understanding the classroom expectations. I also take this time to learn more about their interests and preferred learning style.
Collaborative Problem Solving: If the student has practice problems or assignments, we tackle them together as a team. The student takes the lead while I guide and support them, encouraging them to think critically and arrive at the solution independently.
Concept Check: I ensure they fully grasp the topic by reviewing key points and answering any lingering questions. No question is a bad one!
Throughout the session, I keep the mood light and engaging with humor and patience, creating a safe space where students feel encouraged and understood.
What Sets Me Apart:
With over 2,800 hours of tutoring experience, I bring a wealth of expertise, empathy, and adaptability. My approach isn’t about rote memorization—it’s about truly understanding the material and feeling confident in applying it. Students often say my humor and analogies make learning enjoyable, even for tough subjects like algebra and statistics.
Who the Lessons Are For:
I can tutor anyone- from young students just starting their math journey to high school students to college-level students to even adults working off the rust in math, which includes algebra, geometry, and statistics. My lessons are ideal for anyone who needs extra support, whether they’re catching up, aiming for top grades, or simply trying to overcome a fear of math.
