About Emma
I am an aspiring teacher in my second year at Queen's University, studying French and Sociology. I have wanted to teach since I was 10 years old and have lots of experience as a Soccer Coach, Math/Reading Tutor at Kumon and as a Language Tutor for underprivileged students. I value effort and commitment in students and fully believe in the "I won't get there YET" attitude. I am dedicated to helping students gain confidence in language skills because as a young student, I always lacked confidence in my grammar and written skills.

As an English tutor, I make lessons engaging and interactive to foster a lifelong love of language. I utilize discussion, visual aids, projects, and targeted homework to support different learning styles. My lighthearted, patient approach puts students at ease while challenging them. Lessons are tailored to each student’s abilities and needs. We might review grammar, analyze literature, proofread assignments, prepare for exams, or work on college application essays. I provide individualized feedback and praise to boost confidence. With experience tutoring diverse age groups from grade school to young adult learners, I help students not just understand the material, but develop critical thinking skills. My lessons include homework help, test prep, and editing support to reinforce concepts. My goal is to instill both knowledge and confidence in each student.
