About Caryn
I have a BA in English and a MAED, I am also working towards my Masters in Christian Spirituality and Formation. I also teach preschool at my church on Sundays. I am on leave currently from my regular job as a public high school teacher. I teach English grade 11, expository writing, and I have taught British literature, American literature, world literature, poetry, creative writing, speech and debate. I am a self-published children's book author and poetry book author. I have 14 years of teaching at the high school level, I have experience as a paralegal. I also am bilingual and speak and understand Japanese.

I like to establish rapport with my students and to create a safe and fun learning environment for all students. Individual learning and attention to assessed skills which need to be focused on is pre-assessed. I love to teach and treat my students with the same respect that they give to me. I am honest yet diplomatic when it comes to correcting and motivating my students to strive for the best outcome of any paper, lesson, and project that they are currently working on.
I am adaptable and motivated to create an environment which will ensure that the students are confident writers and are able to find their "voice" in their writing.
