About Elijah
Teaching piano over the past 8 years has been a deeply fulfilling experience, during which I have had the joy of working with over 150 students spanning different skill levels and ages. From beginners stepping onto the keys for the first time to advanced players preparing for performances, each student brings a unique energy and set of goals that shape our lessons. My teaching philosophy centers on fostering a safe, encouraging environment where mistakes are welcomed as part of the learning process. I focus on building solid technical skills like finger independence, scales, and sight-reading, but I also emphasize the importance of musical expression and personal connection to the music. I customize lessons to each student’s tastes, whether they love classical sonatas, jazz improvisation, or contemporary pop songs, helping their practice feel engaging and purposeful. One of my proudest moments was supporting a high school student who struggled with stage fright but ultimately delivered a confident recital performance after months of focused preparation. Witnessing their transformation underscored for me how piano teaching goes beyond notes and rhythms—it’s about nurturing confidence and artistic voice. I am committed to helping every student experience the joy of music and develop skills that empower them to express themselves fully through the piano.

My piano teaching method focuses on creating a learning space where students feel respected, supported, and challenged in a healthy way. With 8 years of teaching experience and over 150 students taught, I’ve seen firsthand that progress happens when students feel safe, understood, and motivated.
I lead with Compassion. Piano is not only a technical skill—it’s also an emotional experience. I understand that every student has a different background, comfort level, and pace. Whether a student is excited, anxious, or just curious, I meet them with empathy and patience.
Integrity shapes everything I do. I come prepared with thoughtful lesson plans that are both structured and flexible. I am honest in my feedback—encouraging where needed and clear about where we can improve. I take your goals seriously and treat your musical journey with care and dedication.
Adaptability is what keeps my lessons effective and enjoyable. I use multiple teaching styles to match each student’s learning method. If you learn better by seeing, hearing, or doing, I adjust accordingly. We can focus on reading music, playing by ear, understanding theory, or composing—it all depends on you.
