I prefer by starting off by giving a brief introduction about the topic that I would be teaching before diving deep into the subject.
This helps students in slowly absorbing the topic as opposed to diving straight into the depth of it. I believe in structuring a small plan on the side as to what should be covered to finish the syllabus on time.
