About Alexandra
Ace-it ! Music Theory & Performance
Whatever your needs or ability with Singing technique, performance, music theory or composition, I aim to offer a tailor made service that covers all the bases required for polishing your skills.
A typical class consists of an inital consultation to discover and assess your requirements and gain a general idea of your strengths and weaknesses; this will help us establish how long it will take to achieve the results you desire !
For the beginner, I recommend a block booking of 10-20 hours, preferably starting with an initial block of 5 two hour sessions over 5 weeks. We will then discuss your progress and decide what we need to cover next. (see below for an idea of the topics covered)
For the experienced singer I can offer a 3 hour master class to cover the areas you feel you need work on and assess if there are any other improvements we can make with regards to:
Vocal range
Pitch and duration control
Volume
Dynamics
Languages/accents
Breathing, posture and presentation
Selection of material for performance or examination
Advanced techniques
Sore reading/music theory
Composition skills
I also include;
yoga flexibility and breathing skills
vocal warm-ups and exercises such as vowel, consonant and scales practice
Qualifications:
Grade 8 music theory Trinity Grades and Music Graduate, currently studying to MA level in Singing and Composition with Trinity.
Instruments:
Rudimentary Piano (Trinity Grades) very useful for learning Theory, Singing, music software input.
Voice and Singing to post graduate level
Music Theory to grade 8 (Trinity)
Music Software especially composition based work using Sibelius and Sonar
Genre/Style(s):
Singing classes in a range of classical and popular styles to graded examination if required
