About Alan
I started learning acoustic guitar when I was 11 and have been interested ever since. I initially started to learn basic songs and slowly progressed into fingerstyle playing, as it was more challenging. I am mostly interested in acoustic blues music and rock, but can teach other genres. Aside from music, I am a student at Durham University studying Business and I have a passion for sports such as rugby and kickboxing!

My method of teaching depends on the student. I can adapt lessons to make sure my students are learning, as well as enjoying the process, which will motivate them to keep learning. I like to use analogies to explain basic music theory to beginners, as that helps them understand better. I can help iron out technical mistakes students make and create smaller exercises to fix them. I have been a guitar teacher for 2 years and have taught mainly beginners, within my local area. I have gained new students mainly from word of mouth. The lessons will tend to last 1 hour
