About Syed Mujtaba Abbas
I have vast teaching experience of tutoring Mathematics-oriented subjects in the past 3-4 years. During college, I have served as a teaching assistant for various courses including Calculus-1, Linear Algebra, Pre-Calculus for the last 4 semesters. I have also been a part-time tutor at Sylvan Learning Center teaching ACT/SAT mathematics. Though I am a Data Scientist by profession, I really love to give tuition to students in my free time since I believe it's the best use of my free time.

I have vast teaching experience of tutoring Mathematics-oriented subjects in the past 3-4 years. During college, I have served as a teaching assistant for various courses including Calculus-1, Linear Algebra, Pre-Calculus for the last 4 semesters. I have also been a part-time tutor at Sylvan Learning Center teaching ACT/SAT mathematics. Though I am a Data Scientist by profession, I really love to give tuition to students in my free time since I believe it's the best use of my free time. Since my degree is in Computer Science, I have always been very close to courses related to Mathematics. I have also pursued a minor in Mathematics in my undergraduate degree. Math has always fascinated me as a student. I have taken and aced all these courses and exams during my time in college. Furthermore, I have had a 780 score in my SAT Math and 35 in ACT Math. My GRE Score was 168 in the quant section. My grades in Calculus, Pre Calculus, and probability were A, A, and A+ respectively. In my last semester, I was appointed as the joint head TA for probability and Calculus and my job was to make quizzes and exams for the students and conduct tutorials on a weekly basis. I am fluent in speaking English, Hindi, and Urdu. Hence those students who do not have English as their mother tongue can still take tutoring in Hindi and Urdu. I really motivate my students to study and I do provide my students small treats (aka gift cards) for performing well in classes. I do maintain a score of 1-10 for every class and allocate a score to them after every class depending on their performance. At the end of 15-20 lectures, I cumulate these scores and give them presents on the basis of the scores they achieved. I really believe this motivates students to be more attentive in class.

Syed Mujtaba Abbas is an awesome teacher. He is experienced and well respected in the community. Syed has great communication skills and has command over Mathematics. He delivers his lessons in an easy to understand way. He provides lesson outline and list of topics covered after every lesson, in well formatted manner which is super helpful! He is also flexible with scheduling on as needed basis. He has definitely helped to get good SAT scores and drastically improve grades. I would definitely highly recommend Syed!!
