About Lara
I may be a working actor now who's had the incredible opportunity to move countries- but that wasn't always the case. I've been singing and acting since I was a child, but throughout most of my time in school before university, I constantly felt overlooked and less-than my peers. This gave me the drive to keep going in pursuit of theatre! If you are always the star of your shows you should be so proud! But if you aren't- just know I was right there with you and you are more than capable and worthy of success. I had to do a lot of growing in self-love and confidence to get to where I'm at today, and that's part of why I love teaching. It's a tough industry, and I want to make sure all of my students have the mental foundation of resiliency that it took me so long to get to. Especially the young ones- it's a hard world to be growing up in and I want to spread the light and share the outlet that is theatre to them!
Outside of theatre, I love coffee (I do miss American coffee a lot!) and comedy shows and cats. I also enjoy writing poetry when I can. I'm a friendly, talkative introvert and a bit of a nerd about a lot of things!

Hi! I'm Lara. I'm a performing artist from the United States who's just relocated to Galway and would love to get back to the arts in my new community. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting with a Musical Theatre Concentration from Arcadia University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2021 and have since been working professionally as an actor in my home area of Pittsburgh.
I teach musical theatre and acting lessons to all ages- I thoroughly love tailoring all my lessons to my students. The arts are a tough industry, so even for the young ones I offer mindset work and techniques that help reinforce the idea that you as an individual are capable and enough.
As a professional, my bread and butter is working with teens and adults who ideally want to be on that track as well. But, if you or your child is a beginner or just wants this to be a hobby, I'd love to work with you too! When it comes to content, this will vary on your goals and what I think your next best steps are. We will use a variety of different acting methodologies to help build your toolbox and find out what works best for you. I also really enjoy working with physicality, voice and speech work for a whole somatic approach to the craft.
I'm also available (and love) to help with repertoire selection, audition preparation, and current scene/monologue/song work if you already have some pieces you're feeling stuck in.
