About Margherita
I am a 19-year-old student who graduated from classical studies in 2019. I am now attending the second year of medical biotechnologies. Since I was in elementary school I have attended weekly English classes with native teachers, and intensive courses in the UK at international colleges during summer. Thanks to these experiences, I was able to experience a full immersion in the English culture, learning the language in a non-traditional but stimulating, fun and extremely interactive way, so that the foreign language became progressively perceived as the mother one. I was able to refine my “spoken language” more and more, acquiring a certain fluency and confidence in conversation, but I was also able to invest in formal English, essential for using the language in academic contexts.

I find that a language is not learned by translating from the mother tongue to the foreign one but by listening, experimenting and above all living the language firsthand. For this reason in my lessons the primary objective is to minimize, if not totally eliminate, the use of Italian. The typical lesson varies greatly from the level, needs and interests of the applicant. I can offer support in repetition of grammar or English literature topics and / or moments of conversation. This would be stimulated by exploiting texts, videos, podcasts, images, current events, topics of various interest: the common purpose should be to create a stimulating conversation (from a linguistic point of view and hopefully not only) discovering English gradually with new ones. terms, new expressions and idioms. This can be combined with a more focused work on English grammar, or an exercise that is aimed at preparing language certifications.
