About Joe
I’m a British actor based in New York, working professionally in theater, film, and as a tour guide. Storytelling is at the center of my work. As a tour guide, I deliver historical content daily to the public, explaining complex events clearly and engagingly to people from all backgrounds.
My main area of focus is 20th-century history, including the First and Second World Wars, the Russian Revolution, Nazi Germany, the Treaty of Versailles, the rise of the Nazis, the Cold War, and the social and political forces that shaped modern Europe. I also have a strong interest in film history and how historical events are represented on screen.
Alongside this, I have extensive experience with Shakespeare and classical text. I’m a company member of Ensemble Shakespeare Company in New York City and regularly work with Shakespeare both as an actor and educator, with a particular interest in historical context, language, and social structure.
I studied History at iGCSE and A-Level and have continued independent study ever since, both for personal interest and professional work. My teaching style is discussion-based and narrative-driven, focusing on causes, consequences, and human motivation rather than rote memorization.
I work best with curious, motivated students and adult learners who genuinely want to understand history in depth, ask questions, and engage critically with the material. My goal is to make history clear, human, and intellectually satisfying for people who are eager to learn.
