About Everlene
I am a teacher who teaches from the heart because of my profound love for helping other excel. I was an Adjunct English College Professor for almost 9 years. I homeschooled my three daughters who started college very young (14, 16, 16). I have taught Gifted 7th Grade ELA and Gifted 7th Grade Social Studies. I am currently a GST (Gifted Support Teacher) for K-5 Students.

My lessons start with making a connection with my students. I don’t just help my students study and learn — I build up my students’ confidence, so they can learn independently and grow educationally. I will listen to my students' struggles and allow them to express their challenges with the subject matter to understand how best to teach them. I understand that my students need my help to succeed — so it is important that I show up and be ready to help them. I will attend all tutoring sessions on time and prepares for each lesson, so every session is productive. I will approach every student with kindness. I understand that I will need to be flexible, so I am willing to make reasonable changes to accommodate my students. I will use various methods to adapt to my students' needs (like a visual learner versus an auditory learner) and their schedules. Feedback is highly important to me, so I will ask my students for regular feedback on my teaching and approach, so I can constantly improve. I will provide feedback to my students, so I can better understand them and their needs. I will strongly encourage them to communicate with me, and I will communicate them, so we can build a high level of confidence and trust.
