About Brittany
Hi! I discovered my love for teaching after spending 15yrs in the skincare field. I recently enrolled to obtain my teaching license in Earth Sciences, because I love science as a general education course, I currently substitute teach for middle school through high school all subjects. I teach college courses for an Associate Degree program as an Adjunct Instructor. (That's a fancy way of saying I'm a part-time professor. I run a student led medical spa clinic at the college as well.) To round things off I have a degree in Business Management on top of being state licensed in Aesthetics. My students have enjoyed a calm and positive approach to teaching. I try to make sure I can bring your subject to life in a relatable way. We all hate spending money on education to wonder, "Where will I ever use this!?" If you're not practicing your knowledge outside the classroom, I think it will be hard to retain. I'm really excited to share knowledge with students and help them on their journey in a variety of subjects!

I have a niche teaching style from having practical experience in my chosen fields and knowledge of how state board testing usually is conducted, how to prepare and a 90% state board pass rate for my college courses.
I have flexible hours to accommodate tutoring schedules and can relate to a number of students, traditional, non-traditional and first generation. My lessons are written to be read for all ages but are geared for middle school through college.
I can help with business classes, creative writing, sciences specifically biology and anatomy or skin biology. I also have an art background, I studied Fashion Design so a lot of my lesson plans include a hands-on learning portion or practical use of the skill/topic.
My lesson plans are tailored to the subject but usually start:
1. Intro/Objectives
2. Theory or Presentation of Information
3. Diagram to fill in while the presentation is going or notes to fill in the blank for during the presentation
4. Questions or Reflections on the information -- a relevant story or how this will be used in everyday life
5.Hands-On or Practical Application of the information think of it like an in class homework moment
6. Follow-up assignments or check ins to see if the material is being retained (Exit Ticket)
