About Yathavan
With a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Imperial College London and hands-on experience working as a full-time Aerospace Engineer, I bring a genuine, real-world understanding of Maths and Physics to every lesson — not just theoretical knowledge, but insight into how these subjects are actually applied in engineering practice. Having achieved an A* in both Maths and Further Maths at A-Level myself, I know first-hand what it takes to succeed at this level, and I'm committed to helping my students reach the same standard. I take a structured, patient approach to every lesson, ensuring students not only understand the material but feel genuinely confident tackling exam questions on their own. Punctuality, preparation, and clear communication are at the core of how I work — you can expect every lesson to be focused, well-organised, and tailored to your specific needs and goals.

My name is Yathavan, and my teaching approach is built on breaking down complex Maths and Physics concepts into clear, logical steps, using real-world engineering examples from my day job to make abstract topics feel tangible and relevant. I focus on identifying each student's specific gaps in understanding first, then work through targeted practice and past exam questions to build both technique and confidence. Lessons typically run 60–90 minutes, giving enough time to cover theory, worked examples, and independent practice without losing focus. While tutoring is not my full-time profession, I bring hands-on experience applying these subjects daily as a working Aerospace Engineer, alongside my own track record of top grades (A* in Maths and Further Maths at A-Level) and a Master's from Imperial College London. My lessons are aimed at GCSE and A-Level students of all abilities — from those needing to rebuild core confidence to those aiming for top grades and competitive university offers.
