About Toby
My tutoring approach focuses on building confidence and a clear understanding of key concepts in both Maths and Chemistry. I break topics down into simple, manageable steps and use worked examples alongside exam-style questions to help students apply what they have learned effectively. I tailor each lesson to the individual, ensuring we focus on areas that need the most improvement.
Lessons typically last around 60 minutes, providing enough time to review previous material, introduce new topics, and practise essential skills without overwhelming the student.
I have experience supporting students in problem-solving subjects, helping them develop logical thinking, accuracy, and strong exam technique. My aim is not only to improve grades but also to help students feel more confident in their abilities.
My lessons are designed for students studying Scottish National 5 through to Higher level, whether they are aiming to strengthen their foundations or achieve top exam results.
