About Yuri
Hi, I’m Yuri. I’m a film editor who believes great editing isn’t about having the fanciest software—it’s about making a story click. I earned my Master’s in Film Editing at the AFI Conservatory and have worked on real documentaries, including Chicken People on Amazon, Swagger on AppleTV+, and Luke Cage on Netflix. Over the years, I’ve learned that the best edits don’t scream “look at me”—they just make you feel something without you even noticing why. If you’re new to editing or you’ve been playing around with cuts and want to level up, I can help. I’ll show you not just how to use the tools, but how to think like an editor—when to cut, when to hold, and how to keep your audience hooked. Lessons are relaxed, practical, and tailored to what you want to make. We’ll keep it simple, have some laughs, and you’ll walk away with skills you can actually use—not just a list of hotkeys.

Yuri is one of the most patient, funny, easy going and knowledgable Editors I know. He can explain anything, and he is skilled in all aspects of editing, from the technical, to effects. He shines and finds editing solutions where other Editors are lost, and he imparts his wisdom in an easy to understand, friendly way.
