My chemistry tutoring sessions are grounded in evidence-based strategies from cognitive science to maximise learning and long-term retention. Each session follows a clear structure that begins with retrieval practice to strengthen memory, followed by carefully scaffolded explanations using dual coding, worked examples, and chunking to reduce cognitive load. I integrate spaced practice and interleaving across topics to help students make connections and apply knowledge flexibly. A key focus is building strong exam technique, so I regularly incorporate exam-style questions, model answers, and time-management strategies. I also highlight common misconceptions and exam pitfalls, helping students to recognise and avoid errors that frequently cost marks. Tutoring available for KS3, KS4 and KS5. And from 45 min to 2 hours in length depending on the session context.
