About Alex
In 2020, I successfully completed my teacher training with TeachFirst, obtaining a PDGE from Manchester University. I have been working as a science teacher in Blackpool for almost three years.
I believe that science education provides a unique understanding and appreciation of the natural and manmade world; however, students can find it challenging due to the conceptual difficulty of topics (and the sheer volume of them). During tutoring sessions, I will first assess understanding of the foundational scientific ideas that the GCSE is built upon, before building up understanding.
I have a passion for education and learning demonstrated by my wealth of experience in teaching and tutoring. Whilst studying for my undergraduate degree at King's College London, I taught as part of an external organisation in secondary schools across London, privately tutored and volunteered with primary school children to help them improve their literacy.
