About Jennifer
I am a certified elementary and secondary mathematics teacher with 12+ years of classroom experience. Before becoming a public school teacher, I taught 6th grade in a private school for 3 years and homeschooled 5 children in grades K–5 for 3 years. I have taught in Texas and have worked with junior high and high school students across 6th–8th Grade Math, Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra 2 at both academic and honors levels, and I am very familiar with supporting students in mastering state-based standards. I hold a Master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in Gifted Education, and I have a strong passion for helping struggling learners experience that exciting “ah-ha moment” when concepts begin to click and make sense.

Hi, I’m Jennifer! I hold a Master’s degree in Gifted Education from Hardin-Simmons University and am a certified math teacher with 12 years of classroom experience. I have taught in Texas and have extensive experience working with both junior high and high school students. Throughout my career I’ve taught 6th–8th Grade Math, Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra 2 — in both academic level and honors level courses — and I’m very familiar with helping students master state-based standards and prepare for success on TEKS-aligned expectations.
In addition to teaching, I’ve spent several years tutoring students both one-on-one and in small groups, specializing in Algebra. I love helping students make sense of algebraic concepts and building their confidence through clear explanations and targeted practice.
Whether I’m working with students who need extra support or those looking for a challenge, I strive to create a positive, engaging learning environment tailored to each individual. My tutoring sessions typically begin with a fun or relatable introduction to the topic, followed by structured instruction and time for guided and independent practice. I’m always open to feedback from students and parents to ensure we're meeting goals and making progress.
