About the lesson

- Do you struggle with your accent in the workplace or in general daily life? - Feel like others aren't listening or can't understand your accent? - Do you feel like your accent is holding you back? - Do you feel like your speech is unclear or not interesting to listen to? - Do you have reduced confidence due to your speech? - Do you struggle with presenting information in a clear manner? - Do you want to soften your accent & learn British English pronunciation? - Do you want to improve your business vocabulary and higher level English skills? ******* All Good Elocution is here to help! ******** Claire owns an Accent Reduction & Elocution company called All Good Elocution. She has a small team of tutors, that can fit around your schedule and lifestyle. All Good Elocution are able to offer appointments during the weekdays, weekends & evenings. Claire or one of the team will carry out a full analysis and assessment of your speech/accent (1 hour chargeable session), we will follow this up with a goal summary document. You will learn a lot of theory even in the first assessment session! After this, your lessons will follow. Lessons can be 45 minutes (£50) or 1 hour (£60) - whatever works for you and your schedule. Clients can choose to take 1, 2 or 3 lessons a week, they can also book an intensive course if needed. Claire has a BSc Degree in Speech and Language Therapy. She has learnt solid theory in phonetics and uses phonetic transcription, which she completed several modules in at university. Claire and her tutors have specialism in Accent Softening/Reduction therapy but can also offer advice around achieving clear & interesting sounding speech quality, being concise and higher level English vocabulary. Claire and her team deliver all lessons online via Zoom or similar. Initially, Claire can offer a free 10-15 minute consultation via phone whereby we can discuss what you would like to achieve. Claire will then take a sample of your speech to analyse prior to starting the assessment session, this way we can tailor the sessions to you and your accent/speech. The sessions will be tailored to you and what you would like to achieve. Generally, the sessions are based on working on changing sounds (vowels and consonants), intonation, syllable stress and clarity of speech. We also offer an intense course of lessons for those who are looking for a fast pace change. I thought I was able to speak proper English but of course the correct British pronunciation has so many nuances that I wasn’t aware of. She is very crystal clear about the explanation how the position of the mouth should be, because as you understand, there’s a lot of phonetic sounds that don’t exist in my mother tongue.

I am able to offer a free 10 minute initial informal discussion via the phone or Skype where we can discuss your aims and what you would like to achieve in the lessons. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have about the process! Please note: The assessment session will be at a cost of £60, this will include analysis of your speech sample and a 1 hour one to one session. I am happy to also offer 45 minute sessions for £50 as I understand not all clients are able to fit in 1 hour sessions into their schedules. Thanks & I look forward to hearing from you!

I love the idiom 'it's raining cats & dogs!' meaning its raining heavily - this can be used a lot in the UK due to our varying weather!

Grammar can sometimes be tricky in English learning! I find the best and most successful technique in learning English is through conversation with a native British English speaker like myself!

A fantastic informative trip to Tate Modern Gallery, London where I saw an upside down piano on display (!) - art comes in all forms!

I've travelled wide and far - I didn't realise how widely English is used in other countries so feel blessed to be a native!
