About Ian

Aside from teaching film at an American University, I had more than twenty pupils of English since I arrived in France, a group containing a large expanse of ages, knowledge, and also linguistic goals .

I have helped pupils to pass their English exams such as IELTS, FCE, CAE, CPE and IELTS, and as previously noted, A-Levels and SAT exams.

About the lesson

I welcome all levels of students, and have taught in a wide variety of contexts, from english to children at their home to cinema analysis and history in a university setting.

My classes are created to suit the student, I've designed relaxed, no-pressure english courses focused around discussing news and current events, but also have created highly structured, more intensive courses for teaching towards an exam or certification.

Speaking of which, I have experience with various exams such as the CELTA and the IELTS, (English certifications), Cambridge (AS and A-level - Business Studies and Literature), and American SAT and SAT II preparation.

I like to focus on developing a good rapport with the student, creating an ambiance conducive to learning, which, in the case of english, allows for freedom and experimentation, and in other subjects, makes it something to talk about, not just memorize.
