Hi, I am Amilcar, a science student at Antelope Valley College, and my approach as a history and science tutor is to help you truly understand the material instead of just relying on memorization. In my sessions, I use an interactive method where we break down complex topics into digestible ideas using real-life examples and guided questions so you can actively participate and think critically.
Normally, we start the session with a quick five to ten-minute review of what we covered last time and clear up any pending doubts. Then we move into the core topic for about twenty to twenty-five minutes using diagrams, structured notes, or historical examples to understand the "why" behind things. After that, we spend another fifteen to twenty minutes practicing with exercises, analysis, or interactive quizzes where I give you real-time feedback, and we wrap up with five minutes to summarize the main takeaways and outline next steps.
What sets me apart as a tutor is that coming from a scientific background, I combine logical, analytical thinking with my passion for history, creating a comfortable and pressure-free space where you can ask anything and make mistakes without fear. These lessons are designed primarily for middle school, high school, or introductory college students who want to improve their grades, build better study habits, and lose their fear of these subjects.
