About Ava
Hi there! My name is Ava and I just completed my HSC last year, graduating with a 99.15 ATAR. I really love teaching people, especially in topics I am passionate about. It truly makes my day to help a student find the same enjoyment I do when solving a problem, or finding an answer to a question. As well as past private tutoring experience, I have coached junior sailing, allowing me to teach in some pretty high stress situations. I hope I can help you!

I am able to tutor in all three sciences, Maths Advanced and Extension 1, English Advanced and Extension 1, as well as Science Extension (a lot of subjects, I know!). I can also tutor in maths, English, and science for younger years. I achieved a band 6 in Maths Advanced and Extension 1 (97 and 96 respectively), English Advanced and Extension 1 (93 and 92 respectively), physics (90), and biology (92). This is a testament to my confidence in these subjects. I believe that a strong focus in practice questions/exams is necessary to solidify understanding and apply it to a more practical context for the exams. Adapting my teaching style to needs of the student is also key for individual success. My lessons are typically 1-2 hours, and I can tutor for any age (from primary all the way up to year 12).
