Bonjour, je m'appelle Sophie! I am very passionate about French and teaching it to others. I have studied the language myself so I know the ins-and-outs and I'd love to help you on your journey.

About Sophie
I have worked as an assistant French teacher for Y7-12, doing extension grammar and oral practice. I have privately tutored students, from people with no prior French knowledge to Y12 students. I have completed VCE French and a French major at Monash University. During my time at university, I also volunteered to teach French to students through language programs I served on the Monash French Society as an Education Officer and Vice-President. I have also lived and worked abroad in France for a year as both a nanny and an English teacher. I was based in Versailles (next to the Chateau!) and also had the opportunity to travel all over.

My lessons are tailored to the individual, their level, experience, age and goals. I can include grammar and vocabulary and work on listening, speaking, writing, reading and pronunciation. I can also include cultural elements to deepen your understanding of France and other francophone nations. I can help with preparation and strategies for exams. Teaching can include activities, music, handouts and anything else you may find useful!
