About Rumana
I am a 19 year old, studying Architecture at University in Leeds. From my studies in English, I understand how difficult it can be to fully comprehend everything that both English Language and Literature can throw at you, but, having been through it, I know that students can get through their difficulties, and do well. During Year 11, I brought my grade up from a 3 to a 9 with practice and determination, and I can use that to help others. I think that alongside academic help, students need extra motivation and a friendly face to help them with their struggles.

From my time studying English, I understand how confusing elements of the subject can be, but also understand that once learnt, can never be unlearnt. My approach to teaching will be looking at structuring answers and essays correctly, and targeting specific weak points determined by the student. Over 60-120 minute lessons, a lot can be learnt, and I believe that my experience in tuition from my time in Sixth Form will help students learn. My lessons are for GCSE students, and will help with creative writing for both English Language Papers, and also aid with English Literature - Macbeth, An Inspector Calls, and A Christmas Carol. I believe that although students may struggle, they have the skill within themselves to do exceptionally in English, and I believe I can allow these skills to flourish.

Rumana helped my daughter achieve an 8 in Maths and English Literature and Language. She was very patient and understanding- also very thorough with her explaining. She assisted my daughter with any class work and helped her work on all her areas of struggle. I really recommend her as a tutor.
Rumana is a patient and trustworthy person who is able to adapt to her environment in order to help people in a person centred way. I think this would make her perfect for the role of a tutor. Rumana has assisted my cousin (aged 7) with her reading and writing in school. Rumana displayed great patience and was able to make learning fun for my cousin. She was also able to accommodate my cousins additional needs in order to provide the best possible outcome. My cousin is now excelling in her year group and I am very grateful for the hard work and effort that Rumana put in to make this happen.
