About Sharon
I am an art teacher with an ESOL certification. Before becoming a public school teacher, I taught at many of the top theaters and nonprofits in Chicago.
Teaching art and English as a second language are my true passions. I have worked with everyone from preK to Northwestern undergraduate students. Having taught many adapted art classes, I know how to support students with IEPs or those of us who learn a little differently.
I earned my MFA from Northwestern University in creative writing and my Master of Arts in Teaching in TESOL and Art.
Prior to teaching, I worked in film and theater production. I have written, directed, and produced films as well as full-length plays.

I work with: adults, elementary-high school students. Projects will be based on your interests, abilities, and learning style.
Learning a new skill can be intimidating. Together we can navigate frustrating grammar or workshop a script you just created. Whatever we work on, expect a kind and judgment-free space.
Feeling stressed? I also have a background in therapeutic art exercises that can help with: test taking, art making, and reducing stress.
