About Lydia
Tutoring has always been such a rewarding experience for me. I am incredibly passionate about English Literature in my own leisure time, so to be able to teach the subject as my job is thoroughly enjoyable. My own favourite books were titles that I studied myself during GCSE - 'Dracula' by Bram Stoker and 'A Picture of Dorian Gray' by Oscar Wilde. I am also a huge fan of Arthur Conan Doyle, so it is exciting that 'The Sign of Four' is featured in the current AQA curriculum. I feel that my understanding and supportive nature as a tutor will help students who lack confidence in the subject, and I hope to be able to encourage them to achieve their best.

Hi there, I’m Lydia. I am a Fine Arts Graduate based in Dorset, UK. I studied GCSE English Literature at both GCSE and A Level, achieving A*-B grades in both. I have experience tutoring English Literature on other online platforms, such as GoStudent, as well as helping my own younger relatives. I am passionate about all forms of writing, both creative and critical. I hope to help students understand the complex terminology of the Assessment Objectives, allowing pupils to gain marks from all areas of the Marking Criteria. I am patient and understand that every student will learn in a different manner - so will tailor my lessons to suit their needs. I appreciate close-word analysis and I am very excited to enjoy some deep conversations about literature with my students! I am especially capable of helping students prepare for exams, understanding that it can be an emotional and challenging time in their lives. I hope to give my students confidence in their knowledge, enabling them to complete their exams to the best of their ability. Lessons are 50 minutes in length.
