About Leslie
I am a bilingual, educational, speech-language pathologist and mother of three amazing kids. I spend my free time reading, volunteering, playing board games, and gardening. I've worked in school settings for over 22 years. I can work with hearing clients and Deaf clients who sign. I have a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Kansas. I also maintain my Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Association, often receiving the ACE award for the number of continuing education hours I earn annually. I am currently halfway through Signed Language Intervention for Clinicians and Educators summer course which focuses on American Sign Language intervention.

Skills within reading, writing, listening, speaking/signing, pragmatics and semantics are well within my comfort zone, with over 22 years of experience working with 3-21 year old students in the school setting.
Lessons are designed to create opportunities for practice and generalization of new skills. Children learn and retain new skills better through play, so when possible and as appropriate, this is the approach I take.
